About Us
Habitat for Humanity of Logan County is an affiliate of HFH International. We are a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization that works with God and partner families to put our faith into action to help eliminate substandard housing and homelessness in Logan County. We build homes through prayer, donations, volunteer labor and sweat equity from partner families and sell the homes at an affordable price. Each family members over 18 years of age puts in 200 equity hours working on their home or the homes of others or at the Habitat ReStore and is a requirement for becoming Habitat homeowners. Habitat families purchase homes with a no-profit, no interest loan and their monthly mortgage payments will be used to build more Habitat houses.
Our History
Twenty-nine people met on May 13, 1992 in the garage of Roger and Rachel Kauffman to assess the need for and support of a HFH affiliate in the Logan County area. Steering committee volunteers were chosen and in January 1993 HFH of Logan County was approved by HFH International.
